I’ve written several hundred technical articles over my career and the most important piece of advice mentioned in the article is “know your audience”. A series of industry experts know the jargon and don’t want to read a lot of boilerplate. Novices need analogies and examples to make concepts concrete. The other component I don’t see mentioned in the article is having a clear “call to action” - how can we take these concepts and start using them in real time - what are my next steps? Those questions should be answered frequently and often. The use of subtle hyperlinks to additional resources (with informative title) shouldn’t be underestimated.
