So regardless if you are an engineer, a designer, an architect, sandwich making etc your work is involved in making something. If you work in advertising, telemarketing, client management, sales etc, you work on selling something. The retirees, million and billionaires etc are the ones who don't have to do either, but some do to keep busy. Nothing worse than an idle mind. So as a maker you can do hard physical work, or do hard mental work.
