it defeats the purpose a little, but it'd be nice to set the spoken speed faster while leaving normal length pauses

- jimmaswell 8y agoGood idea for an audiobook app/other audio listener program setting. Pretty easy to detect periods of low volume and reduce the speed.
- ars 8y agoI'd personally like exactly the opposite. Get rid of all the pauses, but speak normal speed. For me every time someone pauses I tend to "tune out" of what they are saying. Pause too often and I can't stand listening.
- kiliankoe 8y agoThis is a feature of the iOS podcast player Overcast. Marco Arment calls it SmartSpeed. It's also neat that the app tells you how much time this feature has saved you.
- GeorgeTirebiter 8y agoThis is precisely the idea of Farnsworth Spacing (used for ham CW): http://www.arrl.org/files/file/Technology/x9004008.pdf http://www.arrl.org/files/file/Technology/x9004008.pdf
