The idea seems cool, but I'm always wary of new social media outlets. For example, a place where developers come together to share cool news items, code snippets and ideas seems eerily similar to HN.
Now, having overlapping use cases doesn't necessarily mean that the service won't take off. The invite-only service can work well to spread throughout different realms of professional environments. I'll request an invite and see what comes from it. Good luck!
- Detrus 16y agoFrom the description of the site, it's not just like HN but like countless design forums that have existed for years, where people critiqued each others work. That's not what matters though. The quality of the designers, developers, starting a community from scratch with a slightly different demographic could be an incremental improvement over previous attempts.
