All true. But I think what you're missing is my last paragraph. :) I agree that it sounds like a genuinely miserable experience that could, conceivably, happen to anyone. (Though perhaps not in that exact way...) My gripe is with his analysis of the situation now that he's had time to reflect, not with the fact that he did what he did, or that he found it stressful.
