- lotsofpulp 8y agoCost of land and rent prices. If we're talking about the people who work at startups, whose labor is among the most in demand in the world, they can basically choose to live wherever they want to. I know some of it is due to most employers being in urban areas etc etc, but I also think a lot of it is people wanting to be in those areas.
