Why do you dismiss "different emotional valences"? People react differently if they think they're being persuaded vs. manipulated – emotions matter.
- hirundo 8y agoI don't dismiss them. Such differences are both persuasive and manipulative. But I repeat myself.
- GavinMcG 8y agoYou seem to be accusing the author of drawing a distinction without a difference – and yet, you admit the difference and deny the distinction! There is a difference, which you admit, and then contradict.
