Only the restaurant owners that believe they have earned business by simply opening shop in the area.
Hopefully companies find a workaround or people start packing though.
- draw_down 8y agoRestaurant owners, indeed! The funny thing is, the jobs in company kitchens are better for the workers. At my company, the kitchen staff is vocal about heavily preferring to work in our office versus in a restaurant: The pay is way better (like, double). They get good health insurance. They work in a nice place. They don't get their hours cut because the owner failed to attract clientele. Et cetera. I think this idea is fundamentally anti-labor, unless those pushing it are also demanding better pay and benefits for service industry workers.
