    It's still had a comeback recently And yes it's 80s/90s newsgroup flamebait. The author concedes GUIs are useful, they just want access to APIs.

  Yeah, I swear this is being posted so often it’s becoming something I’m starting to ignore (kind of becoming the boy who cried wolf) It feels like the more recent versions of these articles are more poorly written. This article, however, was much more reasonable.
