Truth in advertising is not a common quality of communist sympathizers. Utopian visions are dirtied by reality and mathematics. So when Bernie, in his 70s, found out on live radio that they have months long waiting lines in Canadian hospitals, he could hardly believe it. And then he moved on, the revelation made no impact on him. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oQP7XvxQpRU https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oQP7XvxQpRU
- marmadukester39 8y agoYou know what months-long lines for non-critical procedures for people without supplemental health insurance is better than? Having the number one driver of bankruptcy in the US be medical bills. https://amp.usatoday.com/amp/101148136 https://amp.usatoday.com/amp/101148136

- axaxs 8y agoI don't disagree with your general statement, nor do I support Sanders. That said, I'm not sure this is a great selling point. In the US, I often have to wait months to see a specialist as well. Wait times have gone way up in recent years, even to see a GP.
- yostrovs 8y agoWait times for non-elective surgeries for people on Canadian government healthcare are significantly longer than for Americans on private insurance. Many Canadians travel to US and pay out of pocket to get something fixed that shouldn't wait that long. This varies province to province because there really isn't an all Canadian healthcare system. The systems are run by the provinces with varying qualities and success.
- zaarn 8y agoI'd rather wait a month for some trivial treatment when it means someone else, who needs treatment on life or death, can get it for free and without risking to go bankrupt.
