Well, that may be an overstatement for now but on a level of individual enjoyment of life, ecology and a saner lifestyle we really need a means of matching sellers and buyers that's less of the current emotional status-based exchange of useless products and more a pragmatic as-is transaction with minimal collateral waste and middlemen moat. This isn't as simple as it seems though because with the transition to that model the global economy would take a serious hit, as there would be less demand (of the emotion-driven kind). For me and many though (which may not have a say in the market as big as the consumerist group), the choice is clearly the self and planet-conscious one.
