Legacy social media is ossifying as surely and swiftly as legacy corporate media as it becomes less free and open. Call it censorship, downvoting, shadow-banning or use a different euphemism - its all the same. The ruling class has controlled American society for more than a century by controlling the narrative. The internet and the free and open exchange of information between people globally has been the first real threat to this control. Those on top are desperate to regain control, which is why we see so many contrived assaults on free speech and the free flow of information, whether its the war on Wikileaks, the Russiagate nonsense or people crying about "hate speech".
