I think you've gotta acknowledge that a lot of this stuff is just fashion.
Anyone can buy a pair of pants. Look beyond the functionality to understand why people do things. It can be social signaling, wanting to be part of a crowd, or dozens of other reasons.
My wife is an architect. She made me see this.

- TallGuyShort 8y agoI think they mean as opposed to buying the right pair of pants that will make you feel awesome in front of your friends. It's not just about covering your lower body - it's about the fit, the style, the fabric, etc.
