My product is a business management platform for a niche industry (pet care). Think CRM+POS+ERP. We tried the traditional VC route to no avail. The niche was too small for the big players. We ended up finding a bigger player within our industry who had some cash to invest. He got the product his business needed and earned some interest in the process. Just my 2c. Good luck!
