Being important, or something that people should be talking about, doesn't make an article on topic for Hacker News. What I'm seeing in this thread is a lack of focus on the specifics of the story, plenty of generic irritation, and not as much thoughtful and substantive insight. If we're not getting what we're here for—gratifying our intellectual curiosity—then users are right for flagging the post.
