Ask HN: how do you remove expired data from a sql DB?

Hi, does anyone have any advice on a good way to approach removing “expired” records from a relational database? You can assume the tables are fairly normalized as well, so no single table with an expiration column. I understand there’s probably a thousand different ways to do this and I’m interested in hearing them all from “use redis instead” to “run a background job selecting the expired data”. There’s really no wrong answer. I’m just curious how have other people approached this in the past. Ok thanks!
