The highways in and around Phoenix, Arizona have amazing road surfaces. Smooth & quiet driving for miles. I keep hoping someday day California surfaces its highways with the same material. Regular city streets seem pretty much the same.
- dmode 8y agoThis. Phoenix highways have the best pavement quality. Good news is that post SB-1 Caltrans is using the same material in CA highways as well - rubberized asphalt. I recently drove from SF to LA and sections of I-5 were recently repaved. Great ride quality
- refurb 8y agoI've actually noticed this a few times. The asphalt around Phoenix is in amazing shape. Most of the road looks relatively new with freshly painted lines.
