I used to get calls every day and after doing this it stopped.
- rdtsc 8y agoMost calls from scammers I get come from my area code. Well it makes it easy for me, since I don't live in the area code my cell phone is from, so I know not to pickup. But in general blocking international calls might be easily circumvented.
- partycoder 8y agoThey don't come from your area code, that's just part of the spoofing.
- rdtsc 8y agoI meant to say the caller ID shows numbers from the local area code often. So blocking international numbers might not work.
- aparks517 8y agoThe signaling data includes the real origin. CID is convenience data provided by the originator. The telcos wouldn’t use it for anything important, like billing.
- ryneandal 8y agoI get calls daily for work from Microsoft support, often from India or Mexico. Wish it could be as simple as blocking international calls :/
