I use one for charging and the other one for the external display.
Guess I'll have to buy the one with TouchID for extra security.
- red_phone 8y agoA USB-C hub would be cheaper.
- t3f 8y agoOnly if your looking for a USB-C to USB-A hub. There is a surprising lack of good USB-C multi-port hubs, let alone any that support USB PD on anything but the upstream port. You're just now starting to see any that even have generic pass-through of PD.
- dwaite 8y agoIt is surprising; I understand the difficulty in making a USB-C multi-port hub, but it seems like a huge missed market opportunity. The MacBook is far from the only device with only a single USB-C port and a headphone jack.
- bdhess 8y agoIf you buy the one with TouchID, you can use the TouchID element for U2F as well: https://github.com/github/SoftU2F/pull/29 https://github.com/github/SoftU2F/pull/29
