The only* thing that matters in architecture is whether you feel happy and alive in it. Nobody can tell you how a place makes you feel. That being said, I think one of the greatest tricks the devil ever played was making modern architecture and (some) McMansions extremely photogenic. I think people gravitate toward imagery rather than their own true senses. *not at all true, but true for this statement ;)
