I always think it's fun to drive down random streets in the commercial areas of Mt. View, Sunnyvale and San Jose and see the crazy mix of famous, has-been, and still unknown companies' signs on the buildings.
- kbob 16y agoHere's an example. Java Drive (no relation to the language) in Sunnyvale is five blocks long. According to Google Maps, the following businesses are on it. (Plus I'm pretty sure there's at least one Yahoo! building there.) Supertex Logic Devices RGB Networks Infinera Corporation NStreams Technologies CTT Palo Alto Networks Net App I, personally, only recognize Netapp and Yahoo!.

- brk 16y agoA guy who used to work for me now works for PAN and their product is very cool, from what I've seen. You should check them out if you're a network guy and pay attention to the company in general
- seldo 16y agoThe Yahoo building is the one marked on Google Maps as "Marvell Semiconductor". They moved out and Yahoo took over the building.
- jf 16y agoThis was a very depressing thing to do after the bust. So many buildings were for lease during those times.
