Is there any research that shows open plan has any benefits other than cost? Why do we keep acting like this is surprising news?

  The only thing surprising that with so much evidence of how it hurts workers, the people making those decisions do not seem to care. And by that I mean not surprising at all. You know that one quote from Upton Sinclair? "It is difficult to get someone to understand something whose salary depends on them not understanding it"? Fits this issue like a glove.
