> Your opinion. Fortunately, not the opinion of the majority of voters in San Francisco.
A mere electoral trick. If every person that works in SF voted you would get the opposite result.
Also, all the people you mention will die and will be replaced by others.
- reaperducer 8y agoall the people you mention will die and will be replaced by others. As will you. And people who don't respect or understand what you love will destroy it and replace it.
- greedo 8y agoA mere electoral trick. Do you think people living in the US on guest/student/h1B visas should be able to vote in US elections? The loops people seem to go through whenever landowners and their representatives do something that the have-nots don't like is amazing.
- conanbatt 8y agoI believe many things, but people working and living in SF are paying taxes in SF and are not able to vote on local issues that affect either their taxation, their permanence and their quality of life in the very place. Countries have declared independence protesting taxation without representation.
- greedo 8y agoIf they're living in SF, they can vote in local elections. If they don't live in SF, they shouldn't be able to; unless you're advocating for overturning centuries of how voting is conducted.
- conanbatt 8y agoForeigners and people living in the east bay and commuting to SF pay SF taxes but dont vote. What kind of person works in SF and lives outside SF? The kind that would vote against anything restricting housing supply. But this is now a red-herring. Arguing that its justifiable because the voting has resulted into this can only be contested with a vote, not with any other argument like "destroy the city" or "good for whatever X". Is a pure political power argument.
