- hsljekskfh 8y agoi agree with the dsa and chapo style socialists on everything except this issue. the “affordable housing” thing drives me absolutely crazy. pass laws that enforce affordable housing if you can, but the zoning thing is the biggest issue. their argument is always aesthetic as well. “nice homes are replaced with big brutalist nightmares.” the guy on the street would much prefer to live in a modernist building.
- debt 8y agoI think that was the moment I finally understood the insanity of California politics. Anti-development, pro-housing groups actively lobbied against a housing bill.
