- ggm 8y agoI use systems every day (we all do) anchored in this model because the truly great fundamentals here, are the work of K&R. But, and this is a hugely important but they did this in the context of Bell Labs, as a benign funding 'lets see what happens' cashless paradise. Constraints were few. If you try and take that to a Randiean norm, you wind up with Facebook: exploitation lurks under the counter, for the wrong type of person saying "my way and me alone to decide" Trust me on this (or not, its a free world) you do want some single artist coded products, and you do want benign dictators like Guido. But please, not Rand. Pick some other metaphorical guru. This one, is severely tainted. She was bad, exploitative, passive-aggressive, and died alone, face to the wall. I don't want coders doing that. Socialize, and consult, and reflect. Don't be an asshat.
