I think Tyler has a lot to offer in terms of novel ideas than just about anybody in economics but fully agree his "importance" is debatable. I also agree he loves writing stuff without divulging his own opinion on the subject, which is unusual among economists (who tend to be open with their opinions to a fault) and that can be annoying at times.
