Not the op, but I need 32 GB for:-
- running virtual machines.
- running MemSQL which requires a minimum of 8GB to be available.
- running video editing software.
There are probably other reasons, but those are the ones off the top of my head.
- cs02rm0 8y agoSimilar to VMs, I run a lot of docker containers, mostly with JVMs in them. I bought an Intel Hades Canyon with 32GB to run Linux on after the new MBPs didn't turn up at WWDC. Feeling somewhat relieved right now.
