This sounds like a bad idea until I remember that most countries have this arrangement and I've made liberal use of it to great benefit... but mostly that has to do with the lower cost of drugs everywhere but the United States. I stock up every time I go to Europe, and I just made a run to Tijuana for medication my insurance company doesn't cover. The downside is that insurance wouldn't cover these often expensive medications if they are OTC.
