You get the same in the UK over terrestrial tv depending on whether you're watching on the old mpeg2 standard def channel or the newer mpeg4 hi def, the latter is around 8 seconds behind.
Don't get me on satellite latency 20 years ago where people used to make money on betting on horse races where the data feeds in betting shops were about 40 seconds delayed...
- isostatic 8y ago100 seconds is two orders of magnitude later. Satellite adds far than a second.
- sofaofthedamned 8y agoI'm on about the time for the satellite data feeds from horse racing events which included collating, transcribing, etc.
- repolfx 8y agoIt was there on the switch from analogue to digital too. The digital channels were usually about 5 seconds behind.
