Airbnb isn't on your side as a guest. That's the reality. I had a situation where the owner was lying in his listing and the person maintaining the house told me Airbnb had warned him, but hadn't followed up to make sure he was in compliance. Imagine driving 2,000 miles only to learn that Airbnb knew about many serious issues plaguing a listing.
