How to Help Your Company Embrace New Software
- HornyM 8y agoIt's well noted in the article that rolling out new software or introducing changes to existing software systems requires to prepare organization and its employees to this change. It happens that business owners do not have a clear vision of how new software will be integrated in their existing business processes and believe that it should simply start working as expected right after installation or upgrade. But this rarely happens so, besides employees often don't like changes and use new software reluctantly. I read a nice article (https://anadea.info/blog/erp-and-business-management-software-rolling-out https://anadea.info/blog/erp-and-business-management-softwar...) where a former roll-out engineer shares his thoughts on how to better organize the development and integration of new business software. He emphasizes the necessity to keep employees aware of the reasons why new software is being introduced, involve them in discussing required software features and using their feedback to better adjust software to their needs. Gathering employees' feedback, analyzing it and turning it into instructions for developers requires quite a lot of efforts and specific qualification. That's why an organization should assign (or hire) a dedicated specialist to perform these tasks. This person should be responsible for success of the project and should have enough power to ensure seamless integration of the product.
