It isn't disproportionate given the yearly advances in understanding and awareness of security issues, or disproportionate given their size and the number of security issues that they have already experienced. Alternatively, we as a community can continue to call it a toy that nobody should trust or use for anything serious, and then the flak isn't disproportionate since you shouldn't have been using it for anything important anways, but you can't have it both ways.
