1 human life
- yani 8y agoand US$3m
- yani 8y agoMost of the money and equipment were donated.
- chrisan 8y agoWhile it may be true, not really the point GP was getting after. Cost or donation, can we expect the same for every child in need?
- empath75 8y agoEspecially in a place like Thailand where there is a lot of real poverty still.
- aljungberg 8y agoCan we expect 1 person to sacrifice their life for every 13 children in need? Helping every child in poverty requires a long term paced effort rather than a one time heroic one. As inspiring as this rescue was, it doesn't scale.
- Cthulhu_ 8y ago[0] is the first source that popped up on a quick googling; the US alone spent 18 billion dollars between 2002 and 2014 on food aid (to hungry children and such). - yani 8y agoWhat do you mean? The OP question is straightforward. How can you twist the meaning that much is beyond me
- xur17 8y agoDo you have a source for that number? It seems incredibly low.
- yani 8y agoIt is an interview in Thai with the guy who was sponsoring the water pumps.
- los_angeles 8y agoSo it was $3M paid for by a rich guy? Was he going to donate the money to charity if he didn't spend it on this?
- yani 8y agoI do not know the answer of this question.
