I think that would be interesting but speaking of single compute unit and attachment to UIs is imposing artificial limitations.
What I would like best is a seamless compute device integration, with whatever hardware it connects, so for example, I connect my mobile device to a workstation, and not only I get the dual screen or whatever setup the workstation has, but all the compute capabilities, so my mobile device becomes just a storage that keeps all my data... I could even connect the phone to a render farm and let it do its work.
Also in a small form factor, the actual usage is very different than workstation usage (at least for myself, it would be messaging+email+browser+youtube vs visual studio/blender/UE4 in the workstation) and having a powerful cpu/ram would be pointless... The storage doesn't need to be that big either, I think that just storing the equivalent of %appdata% in the phone would work as it keeps your setup and preferences in your device, work software/data can be kept in the workstation attachment devices.
