Funny, a CTO thinks programmers are overpaid and our work isn't really that hard. Who would have thought?
- dang 8y agoPlease don't get personal. Even if you're right—and the odds are you're not—the damage it does to the container here is greater than any information it adds. https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html
- learc83 8y agoI don't think pointing out that there is a conflict of interest by the author of a public marketing piece is getting personal. If Mark Zuckerberg posts something to the effect of: "guys what we do isn't that hard, we should probably get paid less", I'd call him out on it too and I hope other people would as well. I certainly wouldn't consider that a personal attack.
- dang 8y agoThe dude wrote a blog post. You're welcome to respond to what he said in the post. Digging up personal details on the internet to use against him is not cool. Please don't do it again.
- learc83 8y agoI didn't dig up anything. His linkedin profile is the 3rd link at the top of the post before the content. There's a signup for a newsletter-- also before the content. The whole blog is marketing for his CTO advice company. If someome sets up a marketing page, sells themself as an expert, and then posts a link to a resume backing up that expertise, it's fair game to click the link to the resume and verify.
