I'm not going to buy Sonos, Amazon Echo, smart TV or any other "smart" device. They all have some things in common: vendor lock-in, manufacturer having more control over the device than the owner does, and little control over your own data. For many websites it took quite a lot of effort to comply with the GDPR requirements. Updating the devices firmware is harder. Without OTA capabilities it may even be impossible. Soon we may hear some news about manufacturers with unscrupulous practices being fined and kicked out of the European market.
