- chewbranca 16y agoI hadn't heard of it before so I figured others might not have either. More importantly, with the introduction of micro instances, this creates a very low barrier of entry into creating a service behind a paywall. I'm looking to do just that, so I'm also curious to hear other people's experiences with DevPay.

- RK 16y agoMaybe you should retitle it as Ask HN: What are your experiences with Amazon DevPay?
- gxti 16y agoIn my experience micro instances are not suitable for on-demand services since they have no reserved CPU and frequently stop responding for minutes at a time. They're basically a way for Amazon to sell excess RAM to grid computing customers. On the other hand, I tested them a few days after they first became available and was just experimenting with them as a way to test scalability of a product, so things may have changed since then.
