I wonder what panel technologies this is supposed to improve? The only one I can think of is a portrait rotated LCD.

- Demiurge 8y agoIt works (worked :/) just fine when switching to portrait mode. I use a secondary Dell monitor for that.
- ken 8y agoPenTile, RGBW Quad, etc -- basically everything except plain old RGB stripes. Of all the possible display layouts, SPAA really only works with one (or it has to be re-designed for each, which realistically will never happen). The stats I've seen are that most Mac users, as of this year, are on @2x displays.
- Lio 8y agoThe real question is whether they’re on @2x disolays exclusively. I have a Retina MacBook Pro I mostly use it plugged into a 27” Dell 1440p monitor. Every office I’ve worked in that provided Macs also provided a 1x monitor of some kind. Never 4k or 5k.
