I hope this forces the NYTimes to allow online cancellations too.
- eliseumds 8y agoI got rid of them when my card was stolen and then cancelled. They couldn't bill me anymore and my account was downgraded.
- dev_dull 8y agoBetter than WSJ, which continues to let you use the service but threatens to send the bill to collections.
- dqpb 8y agoYou can unsubscribe via chat. The caveat is that it's a horrible experience which takes over an hour. I guess they want to make sure that if you leave you never want to come back. This makes them feel like such a shady company.
- sequoia 8y agoFunny that NYT came up on two separate threads here. I know they made me go through hell to cancel, sounds like I'm not the only one.
- Macha 8y agoMedia outlets in general. I know they make the argument about GDPR and ad tracking that they need it because nobody pays for them, but maybe more people would pay if it wasn't so foolish to trust them with your payment details.
