- grawprog 8y agoThis is the same with any field really. People are just people. Everyone just goes along figuring things out the way they know best. I was lucky I got to learn this lesson young. Don't get me wrong, I definitely respect masters of a profession or craft and any time I get the chance to learn from one I ask as many questions as they'll tolerate. But, I don't see them as being super geniuses or above me. They're just people who've put a lot of time and practice into mastering their skill. They know what's worked best for them and what they are able to do, but that may not necessarily be the way that works best for everyone and they're still learning almost as much as you are. I'm lucky. I get to work with a few people who really are masterful at what we do. All of them though know different aspects of our work and all of them do things just a little bit differently. But, they still make mistakes, they don't always have the answer and despite their many more years of experience will sometimes even ask me the best way to do something. Honestly the only thing i've really found that separates the masters from the beginners is just years of practice and experience. Sure some natural talent comes into play, but without practice you don't even know if you have a talent for things. I really feel like people can learn to do most things if they have the passion and dedication to learn it. I just feel like people severely underestimate how long it takes to get good at something.
