When I was in high school in the late 80's, our school would give an award at the end of each school year to the student with the highest grade in each subject. My geometry class ended up with 8 people who had a 100 average. Rather than break tradition and give out multiple awards they opted to give each of us a harder test to determine the winner. At my daughter's high school award ceremony they just gave the awards to everyone. Times change I guess.
