While I am not a fan of it, D's BetterC mode kind of fits what you are looking for. https://dlang.org/spec/betterc.html https://dlang.org/spec/betterc.html It's kind of a subset of D language, without dependency on GC or runtime. It feels like cleaned up C. Of course without runtime, most of the standard library doesn't work, so you are on your own for the most part, but then, C doesn't really have that much of a standard library to begin with.
