Afaik, sparcs and many other traditional unix-running cpus does not support unaligned memory access
- jschwartzi 8y agoTechnically, neither does ARM. Although you can enable emulation for unaligned accesses. One of the first things I did when setting up QNX was enabling emulation for unaligned accesses to eliminate a SIGBUS termination on some of our applications.
- monocasa 8y agoARM supports it now, and with next to no perf cost.
