I taught for around four years at a coding school that gave me free reign to try whatever crazy experiments I wanted. With the compressed timeline, I also got the chance to try out different things with a new batch of students every three weeks! It was a tight feedback loop with weekly feedback forms from the students.
As an example, here’s one experiment that proved really useful, a ruby object graph visualizer to explain objects and references: https://github.com/mattbaker/ruby-heap-viz https://github.com/mattbaker/ruby-heap-viz
Your experience teaching is far greater than mine, but I think I might actually have a lot to share in relation to the questions you’re asking, and I love talking with educators.
