It's on it's way out because other media offer a far better use case to hammer down ad our throat, trick us into click-baits, exchange information underneath while we are reading. In a time of full blown multimedia channels, the simplicity of the channel is in favor of the user, that's why the providers are killing it. It's not bad enough.
