I saw a discussion once (can’t remember where) about the possibility of adding opt-in GC functionality to Rust. If that ever comes to fruition, I wonder if that’d cover many of the current use cases for OCaml?
- steveklabnik 8y agoIt was more about integrating with external GCs; imagine writing a Python extension where the Rust code can inform the Python GC about its usage.
- mwcampbell 8y agoInteresting idea. I think it would be useful to have that sort of integration with the Dalvik/ART GC on Android.
