You lose a lot of efficiency when you spread any particular software development work beyond one person's head.
But you lose a lot of expertise when you spread your developers too widely, technology-wise.
- scarface74 8y agoI can do all of those roles at a decent level of proficiency and I’m paid accordingly. But, as the article mentioned, why would they want to spend the money on my salary when they could hire someone a lot cheaper? I like having the choice of being able to do it myself so my development is not being blocked by someone else but not having to do s lot of the mundane work.
