Two methods I always use:
1. Google the article title and click on the search results to reach the article.
2. Refresh the webpage; as the page loads, hit the x in the browser to kill the loading. Sometimes this loads the article but not the paywall.
- sheepdestroyer 8y agoBoth methods do not work for me... Coming from google gives me the same result as clicking the link from here. This is actually a recommendation i saw here a few time but that never worked for me. What could the variables be? I am on Chrome/linux, outside of the US. When I see this happening, I just want to flag every such wsj articles... Edit : and then I read that : http://www.niemanlab.org/2018/02/after-years-of-testing-the-wall-street-journal-has-built-a-paywall-that-bends-to-the-individual-reader/ http://www.niemanlab.org/2018/02/after-years-of-testing-the-... "Non-subscribed visitors to WSJ.com now each receive a propensity score based on more than 60 signals, such as whether the reader is visiting for the first time, the operating system they’re using, the device they’re reading on, what they chose to click on, and their location (plus a whole host of other demographic info it infers from that location)" OK, maybe I should not bother trying reading that profiling machine garbage anymore
