Depending on the Uber driver, they might not need any downtime. According to PBS, the average NYC taxi driver does ~180 miles in a 12 hour shift. I have no idea the accuracy of that statistic. But if it's true, then an Uber driver could buy a Chevy Bolt, get 220+ miles a day out of it (one full 12hr shift), and just charge at home or garage overnight. No downtime besides their own sleeping.
