Re dinner table / coffee table: ask a lot of questions of other the people. Most people love to talk about themselves. Then try to make a comment that is relevant to their answer/story.
- tboyd47 8y agoAsk questions to find something unique and interesting about the person you're talking to and get them to talk more about that. You walk a fine line between small talk and prying but it usually works for me.
- matt_the_bass 8y agoYeah, it can also be way for you to learn something of interest about them. This is particularly relevant in a business networking situation.
